Workin’ Woman Blues - Valerie June.

If you remember what it was like to fall in love with Gillian Welch when she released Hell Among the Yearlings, we’d like to introduce Valerie June – a little more bluesy, a little more raunchy, but oh-so-good at picking out a hot mix of folk, soul, gospel and bluegrass. Her debut Sunday Best Recordings release Pushin’ Against A Stone was partly recorded at the Black Keys’ studio in Nashville, and was produced by Dan Auerbach and Kevin Augunas.

TRACK OF THE NIGHT

On paper the concept of Röyksopp and Robyn collaborating is musical heaven - Röyksopp’s stunningly-polished electronica meets Robyn’s penchant for the perfect pop song. Do It Again is all of this and more: a big, ballsy electropop number which packs an emotional punch whilst sounding utterly universal.
